Apple is set to release iOS 18.1 on October 28, bringing the first wave of its new AI-powered suite, Apple Intelligence, to iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 users.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the release was delayed slightly to ensure a smooth rollout and prepare Apple’s cloud servers.
iOS 18.1 will introduce several exciting features, including enhanced writing tools for proofreading and summarizing text, notification summaries for apps like Messages and Mail, and an updated Siri interface.
A new tool called “Clean Up” in the Photos app will also be available, letting users remove unwanted elements from images using AI.
While this is only the first batch of features, more advanced Apple Intelligence tools, including ChatGPT integration and the “Image Playground” app, are expected in iOS 18.2 this December. The complete Siri overhaul is planned for early 2025.
