WhatsApp is stepping up its security game with a new feature that will help you verify links before clicking on them.
This upcoming tool aims to make it easier to spot suspicious links, which is especially helpful considering how dangerous clicking random links can be these days.
In the latest beta update for Android (version 2.24.20.28), WhatsApp added a safety screen to assist users when dealing with unknown contacts.
Now, if someone new messages you, the app will guide you on how to check the person’s profile and country code while also giving you options to block or report them.
The latest addition will also make it simple to verify links sent in chats. When you receive a link, you can use a safety screen to search for more information about it or just search the message text itself, making it easier to avoid scams or malicious content.
While there’s no official release date, the feature is currently under development, and users can try it out via the beta version on the Google Play Store.
