Apple Releases AirPods Pro Firmware Update with Some Changes

It is that time again. Apple is releasing another batch of ambiguous AirPods firmware updates. This time, the AirPods Pro, AirPods 2, and AirPods Max hardware are due for an update. AirPods Pro and AirPods 2 software have been updated to version 6A321, just like the AirPods 3 earlier this month.

The AirPods firmware release notes always state the same thing: bug fixes and improvements. That is precisely what Apple has announced as the software version for AirPods 3. AirPods Max has its firmware version, built 6A324.

Apple outlines how to upgrade AirPods firmware while charging over Wi-Fi:

To use your iPhone or iPad to check if your AirPods are up to date, ensure you have the most recent version of iOS or iPadOS. Navigate to Settings > Bluetooth and then hit the Info button next to the name of your AirPods. Scroll down to the About section to see the firmware version.

When coupled with Apple Vision Pro, the AirPods Pro 2 with USB-C provides lossless audio playback, a unique function. The Lightning charging version simply won’t cut it. Apple’s first spatial computer is now available for pre-order before its February 2 release. None of the other wireless headphones will support lossless.
