Apple Maps EV Routing Coming to Ford F-150 Lightning later this Year

A 2020 WWDC feature called Apple Maps EV routing will soon be available for a third vehicle. As of later this year, Apple Maps will enable EV routing for Ford’s F-150 Lightning electric pickup, according to dealers.

In March 2022, Ford Mustang Mach-E routing on Apple Maps EV made its debut. A few months ago, the Porsche Taycan became the second vehicle with the capability. Ford now claims that the F-150 Lightning will eventually overtake the Mach-E and feature Apple Maps EV routing in Q4.

According to a CarsDirect report, Ford revised its notice to its dealers last week and stated that starting in Q4 2023, “all Ford Lightning owners” will use Apple Maps EV routing. This implies that the feature will be added to the F-150 Lightning model years 2022 and 2023 via a software upgrade.

This year’s release of iOS 17 includes real-time EV charging availability data in Apple Maps for EV drivers. With the help of this tool, you may determine how many stalls are available overall and which ones are occupied at a particular charging station.
