Apple’s AI Features Delayed: Apple Intelligence to Arrive Later This Year

Apple’s highly anticipated AI features, branded as Apple Intelligence, will not be available at the launch of the new iPhones and iPads in September. Instead, these features are set to be released in October with a software update.

This delay will affect the iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 updates, which are scheduled for September.

According to Bloomberg, Apple plans to introduce Apple Intelligence through beta versions of iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 to developers this week.

This approach will allow developers to test the new features and help Apple address any potential issues before the public release. The new AI features will be compatible with recent Apple devices that have advanced chips, like the A17 and M series.

However, not all users will have access to Apple Intelligence right away. Due to new regulations in Europe, some of these features, including Phone Mirroring and SharePlay Screen, will be unavailable in the EU throughout 2024.

Apple has expressed concerns that these regulations could impact user privacy and the integrity of their services.

Despite the delay, Apple aims to enhance its iPhone 16 models with these AI features, including improvements to Siri, notification management, and various writing tools.

The company hopes these updates will attract users looking for advanced capabilities in their devices.
