Astropad has launched a new smartphone accessory called Bookcase, which aims to make reading on your phone feel more like using an e-reader. Priced at $50, the Bookcase is a magnetic attachment that adds plastic handles on either side of your smartphone, making it easier to hold, especially for long reading sessions.
It works with most modern smartphones, including iPhones with MagSafe and Android devices.
While the Bookcase doesn’t change the display or battery life of your phone, it enhances your reading experience by providing an ergonomic grip.
Astropad also includes a MagSafe conversion kit for older iPhones and Android phones, allowing broader compatibility.
One cool feature of the Bookcase is its integration with an NFC chip. When you attach your phone to the accessory, it can automatically launch your favorite reading app and temporarily disable notifications to minimize distractions.
However, it won’t prevent access to other apps like TikTok.
The Bookcase is available in a dark blue color and offers a simple, yet effective way to turn your smartphone into a more comfortable reading device without the need for a separate e-reader.
