Blackmagic Launches Free Pro Filming ‘Camera’ App for iPhone

A new iPhone app dubbed “Blackmagic Camera” was released by Blackmagic on Thursday. Blackmagic claims that the new Camera app gives iPhone users the same user interface as its own cameras, giving them the impression that they are taking pictures with high-end equipment. If you’re a creator or a filmmaker, Blackmagic Camera can help you get the most out of your iPhone’s video capabilities.

Numerous manual adjustments, including shutter speed, ISO, white balance, and tint, are available in the app. Additionally, users can quickly swap between various lenses, options for frames per second, stabilization strengths, and focus adjustments. In the UI, you can also discover recording parameters, a histogram, focus peaking, levels, and more.

The Blackmagic Camera’s ability to shoot a 16:9 video horizontally while holding the phone vertically is an intriguing feature. To make post-production simpler, there are other options for adding metadata. The app is compatible with the new Log colour profile for iPhone 15 Pro users.

Naturally, DaVinci Resolve and Blackmagic Cloud are effortlessly integrated with the app since Blackmagic built both of these programmes, allowing you to sync your films with them immediately. The videos can also be kept on an external SSD, shared to other apps, or saved to the Photos app.
