Google Search is Testing a Controversial ‘Quick view’ Button

Google is trying out a new feature called the “Quick View” button in its Search results, but it’s causing some mixed feelings.

This new button shows up when people search for recipes, like “pesto recipe” or “chocolate chip cookie recipe.” With Quick View, you can see the recipe, ingredients, and steps right on Google without going to the original website.

The idea is to make it easier for users to find what they need quickly. However, some bloggers are worried because if people don’t visit their sites, they could lose traffic and engagement.

For food bloggers who put in a lot of effort to share recipes and personal stories, this change might not be great.

Google says it’s testing this feature with a few recipe creators and has some agreements in place, but it’s not available to everyone yet.

The company claims it’s trying to provide useful information while still supporting websites, but it’s too early to say if that will actually help bloggers.

Some people think the Quick View button is helpful since it saves time, while others see it as taking away credit from bloggers.

If Google decides to make this feature permanent, it could really change how people use recipe blogs in the future.
