Apple did not release iOS 17.1 to the public on Tuesday as many expected, but the firm did issue an essential update to TestFlight that addresses a problem impacting customers who have already updated to iOS 17.1 RC and iPadOS 17.1 RC.
According to the release notes for TestFlight 3.4.3, the update corrects a fault that prohibited some customers from redeeming the code to download a beta app on the platform. Apple claims that the flaw affects the most recent version of iOS available to developers and beta testers. The bug has been fixed in today’s TestFlight update.
“Specifically, an issue that prevented users from accepting an invitation to test a beta app via redemption code has been resolved,” the business writes in the release notes. “Testers on iOS 17.1, iPadOS 17.1, or later will need to use this latest version of TestFlight to accept an invitation via redemption code.”
TestFlight is an Apple platform that allows developers to release beta apps to customers outside of the App Store. Users may be invited to download a beta app via email, direct link, or redemption code.
