Epic Games is expanding its popular free games program to mobile devices. This means that Android and iOS users will soon be able to get free games, just like PC players have been doing for years.
Epic Games announced this at the Unreal Fest event. The mobile version of the Epic Games Store launched earlier this year—on Android globally and on iOS only in the European Union. Now, they plan to add more games and start giving away free games by the end of 2024.
Steve Allison, general manager of Epic Games Store, said they expect 10 to 50 third-party games to be ready by the holiday season. Free games will also be available at that time to attract more mobile users.
The first third-party game will be “ARK: Ultimate Mobile Edition,” which will come to Android and iOS (in the EU). Epic is also working to make it easier for developers to release their games on the store.
This free games program has been very popular on PC, and Epic hopes it will also bring success to mobile. It will let gamers enjoy many free games right from their phones, adding more excitement to the Epic Games Store.
