Google Photos on the web has now introduced the much-anticipated ‘Documents’ section, already available on Android and iOS platforms.
This addition, initially launched for mobile in November, can now be accessed via the Library tab alongside other categories like Favorites, Albums, Utilities, Archive, Locked Folder, and Trash.
The ‘Documents’ section categorizes photos automatically, organizing them into specific sub-categories such as Screenshots, Books & magazines, Event information, Identity, Notes, Payment methods, Receipts, Recipes & menus, and Social.
This feature allows users to easily locate photos of important documents, making it convenient to retrieve receipts, identity documents, recipes, and more directly from the Google Photos web interface.
Users can access the Documents section by navigating to photos.google.com/u/0/documents or by searching for “Documents” within the Google Photos search bar.
This enhancement aims to streamline document management by leveraging Google Photos’ automatic categorization capabilities, facilitating quick access to stored images without the need for external apps or workarounds.
Additionally, Google continues to enhance user experience with plans to integrate Gemini-powered Ask Photos, enabling conversational access to photo content.
This evolution underscores Google’s commitment to improving the functionality and accessibility of Google Photos across platforms.
