Samsung Finally Confirms Tri-Fold Phone at Galaxy Unpacked

At the highly anticipated Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung officially confirmed the development of its first tri-fold smartphone, marking a new milestone in the evolution of foldable devices.

While the company didn’t provide a specific release date, it hinted that the tri-fold phone would arrive after the next Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip updates, slated for a July launch. This announcement puts Samsung directly in competition with Huawei, which has already introduced its Mate X series tri-fold designs.

The tri-fold phone will reportedly feature a G-type inward folding mechanism, ensuring better screen protection when closed. Once unfolded, the device is expected to offer a tablet-sized display of 9.9 to 10 inches, combining productivity with portability.

To test the waters, Samsung plans to initially produce just 200,000 units of the device, catering to early adopters and gauging consumer interest in this cutting-edge design.

The tri-fold smartphone represents Samsung’s commitment to innovation, pushing the boundaries of what foldable devices can achieve. With this announcement, Samsung reaffirms its leadership in the foldable market while setting the stage for a bold new era in mobile technology.
