Google is steadily growing its brick-and-mortar presence, announcing its seventh retail location in the U.S., this time in Austin, Texas. The new store will open at Domain Northside, 11701 Domain Blvd, a prime area housing leading tech companies like Apple, Amazon, and IBM, alongside retail and dining outlets.
While Google has yet to reveal the store’s launch date, it promises to offer services similar to its Oakbrook, Illinois, store, which opened in late 2024. These services include Pixel and Chromebook repairs, order pickups, troubleshooting assistance, and hosting Google workshops and events.
The Austin store will join Google’s existing locations in New York (Chelsea and Williamsburg), Boston, Mountain View, and Oakbrook, with another store set to open soon in Santa Monica, California.
Austin, known as a tech hub, is an ideal choice for Google’s retail expansion. Alongside this move, Google has invested heavily in Texas with initiatives like a data center and a $1 billion renewable energy project.
This step reflects Google’s strategy to compete with established retail leaders like Apple by providing hands-on experiences, fostering customer engagement, and promoting its hardware ecosystem in a fast-growing tech-savvy market.
