Apple’s First iPhone SE Now Considered Vintage

Today, Apple has expanded its inventory of outdated and vintage products to include the original iPhone SE. It has been seven years since the release of the original iPhone SE in March 2016.

The iPhone SE is qualified for Apple’s vintage designation because it was sold until September 2018, five years after it was last made available for purchase. Five years after an Apple device was last sold, products are labeled as vintage, and after seven years, they are marked obsolete.

Although Apple will offer repairs if the parts are available, vintage devices are not always eligible for repairs through Apple or Apple Authorised Service Providers.

Apple has continued producing the iPhone SE series, which is still the only iPhone available today with a Touch ID fingerprint sensor. Three generations have been released, with the March 2022 introduction of the iPhone SE 3.

Today, Apple also designated the Mickey Solo3 Wireless special edition headphones and the second-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro as vintage. These days, the Powerbeats 2 and Solo2 Wireless headphones are regarded as outdated.
