According to reports, Apple is working on releasing the iPad Air 6th Generation, a larger iPad Air with a 12.9-inch display that may run on Apple’s in-house M2 chipset. Since October of last year, there have been rumors about the new iPad; however, 91Mobiles recently published renders of the anticipated device.
The 91Mobiles report, which cited industry sources, states that the new iPad Air 12.9-inch will resemble the current iPad Air model in terms of its all-screen layout and slim body.
An Indian Express report claims the next iPad Air 12.9-inch will significantly reduce the gap between the Pro and Air lineups. And it will allow users to get a more prominent display from Apple while saving a lot of money by not paying extra for the Pro lineup.
Bloomberg reported that Apple plans to launch a 12.9-inch iPad Air with four potential models codenamed J507, J508, J537, and J538. The report stated that these models would be available in both wifi and cellular configurations.
Furthermore, according to Bloomberg, the larger display on the iPad Air series could be part of Apple’s strategy to provide more options at different price points, as it has done with the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro series.
