YouTube Premium subscribers worldwide are seeing big price increases. Starting in November 2023, many countries, especially in Europe, will have to pay more for both individual and family plans.
In places like Ireland, Belgium, and the Netherlands, the family plan will jump from €18 to €26 per month, and individual plans will go up by €2. Countries like Switzerland and Sweden are also seeing significant hikes.
The increases aren’t just in Europe. The Middle East, Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia are also affected. Prices in India went up in August 2023, with the family plan seeing a 58% jump.
This makes YouTube Premium more expensive than other services like Spotify and Apple Music. Many users, especially those who use YouTube for music, feel the price is now too high.
The price hike has upset a lot of users, with many taking to Reddit to complain.
YouTube Premium offers benefits like no ads, offline downloads, and background playback, but the new prices have left some people wondering if it’s still worth it.
Expect these changes to roll out in other countries soon, with even higher prices if you subscribe through Apple’s App Store.
