Apple is redesigning its entire ringtone and text tone offering in iOS 17, presenting more than 20 new sounds that can be used for phone calls, messages, alarms, and more. Almost all of the Ringtones under the Sounds & Haptics menu are brand new, so there are many to select from.
Arpeggio, Breaking, Canopy, Chalet, Chirp, Daybreak, Departure, Dollop, Journey, Kettle, Mercury, Milky Way, Quad, Radial, Scavenger, Seedling, Shelter, Sprinkles, Steps, Storytime, Tease, Tilt, Unfold, and Valley are among the new ringtones. Reflection remains the default ringtone selection.
Many of the new ringtones are lengthier and sound more contemporary when compared to the old ringtones. For those who prefer options like Illuminate, Night Owl, Constellation, and Twinkle, Apple has kept all the older ringtones available in the “Classic” area.
Ringtones can also be used as alarm sounds and are activated when the iPhone rings and the mute feature is turned off. If you have numerous lines on one iPhone, you can utilize distinct ringtones and have different ringtones for each line in your Contact app.
Apple has also released more than ten new Text Tones for incoming text messages. Text Tones also replace the previous options, with the former sounds being relocated to the Classic interface. In addition to texts, the new Text Tones can be utilized for New Voicemail, New Mail, Sent Mail, Calendar Alerts, and Reminder Alerts.
