The Galaxy S24 Ultra and the Galaxy S24 and S24+ are expected to support the same charging speeds as their 2023 predecessors – 45W for the Plus and Ultra and 25W for the vanilla S23. The batteries in the two smaller models will be slightly larger, but only by 100/200mAh.
Nonetheless, Samsung is developing new chargers, according to leakster Roland Quandt. The wired Samsung Charger Duo 50W will be the first. This one will have two USB-C ports, so it will max out at 45W when only one is in use and 2x 25W when both are in use. The model number of this charger is EP-T5020.
The other is the EP-T4511, which is a refresh of the Samsung 45W Power Adapter (EP-T4510). It’s unclear what the differences will be here; the charger, like the older model, should have a single USB-C port.
The old T4510 supports USB PD 3.0 PDO and PPS; the new one does not, as USB PD 3.1 is primarily concerned with higher power ranges (up to 240W), so it is unnecessary.
These new chargers will be sold separately, as Samsung, like many other smartphone manufacturers, no longer includes a charger in the box with its phones.
