With its trademark sardonic forecasts, CARROT Weather today revealed that its app—which will be available on the Apple Vision Pro on Friday—will be available.
With features including the current temperature, hourly and daily forecasts, dawn and sunset timings, moon phases, air quality, and more presented at a glance, the well-known iPhone weather app has been recreated for visionOS.
A dynamic 3D globe featuring global temperature, wind speed, and precipitation intensity has been added to Vision Pro by CARROT Weather. As the “marquee feature” of the software, according to app developer Brian Mueller, “it’s just really cool being able to look at a globe floating in your living room.”
Additionally, users can play minigames via the “ornament” at the bottom of the app’s window and engage with the sarcastic AI-powered character CARROT.
The App Store will have CARROT Weather’s visionOS app available at approximately 7 a.m. Pacific Time on Friday, the day Apple Vision Pro releases. All of the app’s functions require a membership, which costs $4.99 to $14.99 per month or $19.99 to $59.99 annually in the US, depending on the tier chosen.
On launch day, CARROT Weather will be one of more than 250 apps that support visionOS natively. Additionally, over a million iPad and iPhone apps are compatible with Vision Pro.
